How to apply for a pension

IMPORTANT NOTE: During the COVID-19 crisis, the AFTRA Retirement Fund has implemented a change in the process for submitting the required notarized pension application to put your pension into pay status. Review this list of critical first steps:        

Submitting your Pension Application Form

  • Submit the completed Pension application which must be physically notarized by a Notary Public
  • Your application can not be submitted less than 30 days before the anticipated effective date of your retirement (BUT NO MORE than 180 days before the anticipated effective date of your retirement)
  • Your completed and notarized pension application must be returned to the Fund office at:
